tell them you are going to invoke the magnuson moss act, meaning that what ever you did had to be proven to cause the problem, tell them you want the warranty denial in writing along with the reason for it. with that said it sounds like they are going to charge you 8k to fix it then charge DC another 6-8k for warranty reinbursement and pocket one or the other amounts

How would one invoke the MMA? MMA was not setup for add on parts or enhancements to the vehicle, it was for using non OEM parts such as brake pads or oil filters so the dealers could not deny warrantee claims if non oem parts were used or they did not perform the service. There is no burden of proof on anyone's part either, if they cancel the warrantee the burden of proof would be on the person who's warrantee is canceled to somehow prove the reason for cancelation was not correct, which would be very hard to do especially on a highly modified vehicle.

Go to a different dealer... . one that knows something... but not too much. Good luck in Canada... it's all different as fars as laws... no MMA.

Give me a break! He has bombed the hell out of the truck, and is running high 12's in the quarter. STOP making DC pay to fix problems caused by those that abuse their trucks! My god, we all pay for it in the end. He has obviously abused his truck beyond what the warranty should cover. Some of you kill me with your ignorance.

You are right,if I wreck my truck with something I did or put on, it is my problem, not dodges. The other side of that is ,what if somebody puts on a cold air intake and a performance muffler and then a injector sticks washes down the cylinder and destoys the motor?What about the exact same scenario with a edge EZ set on 40 h. p. ?Bombing the hell out of it or mild upgrade,where do you draw the line and who decides.

A Pro 52 and FASS does not get you into the 12's alone. You've done a lot more to your motor in the area of increased performance.

Changing a muffler or air filter is a little more tame than a big chip and turbo upgrade like yours. Whether you know it or not, dealers get screwed by DC during audits for warranty work. If the dealer does the work, and there is evidence that the motor has been altered by the owner, DC will charge back the work to the dealer. Most if not all dealer's love warranty work, but the threat of a charge back keeps them somewhat hesitant for modded trucks.

Now there is a true fact

Just ask any republican, Whats wrong with the good ole USA is that so many people don't accept responsiblity for their actions. Its always somebody elses fault or "whats in it for me!!!" :-{}

Yes I have a modded truck,and yes I was hoping that the faliure might have been something that was covered under warranty. It was not ,I accept that. I have already found a new motor. I can keep my old one and mod the hell out of it and keep it for a spare. My truck and its modifications aside,what about the poor guy with the 40 h. p. edge EZ?Like I said ,where do you draw the line,because I know there is not one person out the that would not try for warranty in a case like that. If the modifaction directly caused the failure no problem,but they should not deny warranty on the cd player because the truck had a performance chip in it.

Ya know, when this thread started I figured this is the direction it would take. I would still like to know what actually caused the scuffing. But I'm sure now that the sermon has begun we'll never know.

I would really like to know as well. The truck is at the dealer and will not get worked on untill Nov 8. Then I will have the motor and I will pull it apart myself. I don't want to pay them any more money than I have to. Dusting seems impossible but I am in some of the worst conditions for it. Has anyone else had a problem with a aftermarket filter?
