2005 Larmie

My 2005 3500 dually has 41,000 miles on it most of it pulling a 35 foot 5iver for the past 14 months. Minor things such as replacement of the door molding, front grill, wiper blades and that is about it. Oh did get a new radiator that a dealer told me I needed, still not sure they just wanted some work to do as I never had a problem with it, but they said it was leaking from the drain plug. Everything was under warrenty other than that this has been so far the best truck I have ever owned and it pulls the 6 per cent grades without ever missing a beat even with a 14,000 plus 5iver behind it. Change the oil every 5,000, transmission fluid change once, rear axle fluid change every 15,000 and it just keeps running. Wish I could get an exhaust brake for it from Mopar but software not out yet for the 48RE 2005 that would make it the perfect truck.

Have ~11k on mine which we bought May 05. Only problems have been the door seals (which were replaced) and the drive shaft howl  which doesn't seem to be an easy fix (?) Not too sure what the answer is there, gotta do a search  But, aside from that... no problems, love the truck, the room and the smooth ride when haulin' the camper  Gotta do an aux fuel tank before too long :)

I have 18k on mine and no probs. I have a question for you guys with steering pump failure. I have a slight leak that seems to be coming from the power steering pump. Did you have something similar that made you get it replaced? Also, my mileage from new has steadily decreased from 19 to 16. I have been experimenting with my quad box and can't seem to get mileage any better than 16 hwy. I baby truck too

Delivered September 04, 25K+ miles, 2500, 4X4, 6 speed, long bed. No problems except my driver door speaker with the Infinity system sounds like it may be blown and the dreaded shift knob, gear pattern rotation. I finally used some silicone adhesive and the gear pattern has stopped its rotation. Now I just need to take my truck in to get the speaker taken care of. That and buy a conversion unit to switch from Sirrius to XM. Two friends with Ford 6. 0's have had significant shop time with problems, still unsolved. I made the right buying decision when I chose my Dodge. I love my truck.

Six months on my rig and about 7000 miles of country roads with an occasional load. No problems so far, and I "get on it" every chance I can :D

Well, as I stated in my "Stranded in Hays, KS", my #2 injector took a dump, so I'm at the Comfort Inn, sucking down some Jack Daniels. 14,685 miles.

33k purchased november of 04

it had the steering box replaced thinking it was the cause of heavy steering but turned out ot be bad PS Pump and has been fine ever since, torn door seals twice but got TSB doen now perfect, oh and a door panel that squeaked they replaced all is well again... . My 01 went through quite a few parts on steering and interior so I am very happy with this truck; living in a trailer park I see lots of new shiny Fords and Chevy's more Dodges these days though I have also seen a brand new paper plated ford get towed out of here sinc eit would not start... .

Purchased June 2005: 12K miles as of Jan 06: No major issues except-

Driveline slack/ play:

Question for those of you with 3G trucks and the NV5600: Do you notice exessive driveline slack? Dealer told me that AAM and NV require extra tolerances that just 'add' up in this new configuration. They said it is normal. My '01 with the NV4500 was never this bad. Do you notice this?

Also I have a slight tick (knock?) at all RPM that I have to get in and checked out.

New in April 2005, 8K miles, no problems, never been back to dealer. Had slight tick that went away after first good tow. Decent (not great) mileage.

1 year old last week. Needed a power steering pump since christmas. Got one last week along with a new steering gear and a hydrobooster for the brakes. Tech said he wanted to avoid any futher problems so he replaced all 3 components in the system. To bad the new power steering pump went bad within a 100 miles. Getting the same treatment again next week. Other than that, I have had zero problems that were not my own fault. Love the truck.

I got 20,000 miles on mine and the only thing I have had wrong was a switch in the ac system. oh ya my tread on my back tires are gone do you think that the will warnnet that.

The slop in the drive line is normal. The nv5600 and dana's had a little slop, the nv5600 and aam axles have alot of slop but it's normal. I bet I could take out the u-joints with 3-4 good throttle romps and let ups rapidly, If they did snap some thing would.

for the tick try 2 bottles of seafoam fill fuel tank and drive, a few full throttle romps through the gears and by the end of the tank full it should clear up. If it doesn't it probably has to be taken into the dealer although I doubt they will do any thing but it's worth a try.

I want to thank everyone who has posted so far. This is a great way to find out how good or bad things are going.

Sorry to hear about some of the problems some have had but the good news is they don't appear to be too many repeats.

Please keep the responses coming, good or bad.

The thing I find interesting is no lift pump issues yet. Maybe, just maybe DC finally got it right. Where's that kneeling and praying icon.
