just over 8000 miles, no problems yet... tow a Fifth wheel. What is the weather stripping problem everyone is talking about?? And what if anything is Dodge doing about it?

I've got 25,000 on my 05 and it's in for the first time to the shop for the weather stripping. The dealer is putting the new '06 weather stripping on it and has been redesigned so it won't rip at the corner of the front door.

TSBs on both the front door weatherstripping and cab lights(poor gaskets). Should be no questions asked-they know about it!

When you open the drivers door watch how the door pulls on the weather stripping down by the fender all the way up to the top of the door jamb. It's only a matter of time before it tears. I've only got 5400 miles on my 05 & can see it begining to wear.

I think my cp3 is leaking saw & felt a little diesel dripping off the sensor harness right under the cp3. Also the rear end looks to be leaking on top of it. Maybe out the breather.

bought mine july 2005, i have about 24k on it and tow a 12k fifth wheel about 5-10 k a year. i just added dodge power steps in the front (love em). i change the oil every 5k. the lumbar support just broke on the drivers side. the rear fenders over the duals are separating, but i havent had it into the dealer yet. other than that i love this truck.

I took delivery of my 05 in Nov 04 and so far so good. No problems. Only been back to the dealer for free oil chances. My 95 was great truck, this one is even better, so far.

AC issue @ 9k miles, (cold drivers side, warm on passenger side), dealer took 2 days to replace leaky evap & stuck damper door. Couple interior bugs have to take in for (lumbar adjuster broke, cupholder hinge). have to check my door gaskets and clearance lights now. Have a 65-70mph shake/vibration need to look into, maybe it's not just a tosed wheel weight :(

thx 4 heads up!

Even though mine is 04. 5 it is basically the same truck. No problems with 24000 towing mostly, except leaking AC condenser repaired under warranty, and the best damn truck I've ever owned. Noted that your trany is the NV5600 as an 05, and your thread was started in Jan 06, do you have any updates for us?

is there a fix to the AC problem?

38,500 miles here... . the cat. converter somehow busted internally? it fell off after i had it replaced anyways... . right now i have a sticking right front brake caliper... . one of the infinity speakers took a dump... . and tire wear is an issure :D had to replace the rears in 3k miles... . too much power is also a problem i guess.

26K on mine, bought 3-05, have run EDGE Juice on 3/3 since 3K and no problems except for erratic TC lock at top of 3rd gear with lite foot since new and a/c isn't blowing real cold, but don't want to take EDGE and aFe off to have charged at the dealer. How difficult is it to buy a bottle and recharge it yourself?

2005 holding up

49,000 miles, mostly pulling a heavy 5er. No problem with engine for drive train, but lots of trouble with the Dodge dealers that do rotten work on recall work for the front springs and the safety recall for the in "Park" issue which they messed up badly and kept my truck for 6 days waiting for parts.

Dodged a bullitt

I switched to synthetic yesterday @59,370Kilometers easier starting in winter. . . Diesel mechanic said to wait until at least that many kilometors before doing it. Break in time. Changing out the anti-freeze this week too actually not, truck has long life anti-freeze good for 100k klm's-just spoke to mechanic . Mileage isn't that great but will switch to a PDA later. Dealership mechanic told me to work it good (engine) and keep the revs up around town. No idling - bad for injectors. So since Nov 04 thats what I've been trying to do and have had no problems other than those door seals.

just an off note- 2 guys that bought Fords same time as I bought my Dodge have had to practically sue the Ford dealership to get new trucks. Seems they've had such bizarre diesel problems that even the dealership (Ford) couldn't fix them. No kidding -the dealerships could not fix the problems these guys were having with their Ford diesels. I can't tell you how close I came to buying a Ford that day in November of 04. . phew. . DODGED a bullit on that one.

Love my Cummins

One odd thing though... sometimes the radio volume doesn't work on start up. So, I have to shut the truck off and start it again and then the volume works again. Odd.

Keeping in mind that the recall for that is E10 and only for 3500 4X2's. Mine has 52,000 miles on it as of today. I have had no real major problems. The only one complaint I have is that the passenger seat stitching has come undone, and DC will not take care of it (noone really sits there), so my dealership is going to try and take care of it for me. I had some issues with my Sirius receiver getting static a lot of the time. Found out that there was a TSB for Pacificas, as well as Rams, but if you do the search for Ram, it won't come up. Sirius receiver works great now.

33,000. Never been back to the dealer. :D

Oh yeah- :D

Well, it still hasn't been back to the dealer, but I DID spring for the Banks intercooler when the stock (plastic) intercooler blew at 49k miles.

If you have a plastic IC, beware! I thought mine was good after two years, but not so.

25K miles. Replaced leaking CP3 at 14K. Door seals at 24K. Changed fluid in NV5600 at 15K with TORCO RTF much smoother shifting. No power mods.

Solid towing a trailer. I love this truck and would own another.
