How many people out there have got their truck at dealer invoice?Just priced a new truck. dealer said that he would do invoice. Then minus the $1000 rebate avaliable that day, and if there was a larger rebate offered at the time of delivery I would get the addional money off. How much of a deposit have you given to order a truck? This dealer wants $500. Dealer says truck should be here in 8-10 weeks.

I ordered mine with $0 deposit and therefore ability to back out for free if I want/need to. I want to drive it before I sign and make sure the MPG is good so I don't get stuck with one of those 12MPG 600's, although it seems like the later 600's have been much better and I think the '05's should be back into the normal 17-20 HWY @ 65 range. I am getting 1% under invoice through affiliate rewards program. Another dealership I talked to would give me 2. 5% under invoice, but required $1000 non-refundable deposit. Both also accept whatever rebates are in effect at the time of delivery ($1000 right now, plus $500 farm bureau).

I am also at invoice with a $0. 00 down deposit. Dave Smith Motors out of Kellog, ID wanted me to put a $500. 00 "refundable" deposit down, just for them to do a search for an '04. No thanks!!

My local home town dealer gets my business.

Who was the dealer @2. 5 under invoice?

Can't say... at least not until I decide whether I'm going to take them up on the deal (my current order wouldn't allow heated seats so I might have to order another). Call around, my friend, call around. :)

I talked to Tomeygun first and got a quote from him then used that to get my local dealer down to about 2% under invoice, plus whatever incentives are available at the time. Not as good a deal as I would have gotten from Tom but I coudn't drive to St Louis for the difference, plus I like to keep my money local if I can. I suggest talking to Tom, he's a great guy to talk to, no pressure no hype. He offers a good price and you can take it or leave it. My local dealer didn't require a down payment on this truck as he said I had ordered a good combo of options and it would be a cinch to sell it if I didn't want it. Last time I ordered (2000) I had to pay $500.

I am getting 1% below invoice through the affiliate rewards program. Dealer said same thing about the $1000 rebate or whatever it is at the time of delivery/signing the papers but in the unlikely event it decreases he'd still give me the $1k...

Deposit was $100.

Man I wish the time could somehow go by quicker :-laf I've never been a good one to wait for anything...

I am glad to hear that you got a good deal...

I figure if I can't sell you one at 3% under invoice, than you may as well get a smoking deal from your local dealer!

The more people buying new dodge trucks, the longer my retired(chrysler) uncle gets pension!

Feel free to call if you have any questions that your salesguy couldn't answer

I paid dealer invoice and kept all rebates. Also got a discount on the 7 year 100k service contract. $1000 deposit.

How much? I'm debating how much to push them for... that's $2500 retail. . I was thinking $1500 would be a good deal but not sure if that's reasonable. . or maybe I can get them lower... hmmm

I skipped the extended warranty because I would have trouble recieving any benifit if there where problems. Plus I had the extra $1500 to put straight towards exhaust and fuel box instead of warranty. Just food for thought, I now you have some bombing plans in the future.

Well, honestly, I'm not a fan of extended warranties either. However I plan to keep this truck for a long time, so if I could get one for close to dealer cost, then it might be tempting. I know how to repair most of the things that could go wrong, but I'm just getting more and more tired of laying on the ground to fix things like u-joints and axles seals. On the flip side, I'll probably clock 100K in under 3 years, so the whole 7 year thing is kind of pointless. Just mulling things over out loud I guess...

I got the 7 year $100K $100 deductable for $2000. MSRP for that plan is $2300. Not a huge discount, but it all helps.

The reason I decided to get it is becuase I have sold a number of cars at about 60K when I started getting several repair bills of $600 or so, and decided to trade. Not necessarily a smart thing to do from an economical point of view. Anyway, with the 7/100 service plan, the most I will spend for any repair is $100, and should encourage me to keep the truck at least till $100K, which is around 8-10 years with the miles I currently drive. If at the end of the contract, I have never used it, I'll still be happy. I think it's interesting that they no longer call these an extended warranty, they are now a "service contract", which implies that they expect you to spend several thousand dollars in service over the 100K miles; the service contract allows you to budget the repair costs over time. I usually do not buy extended warranties on consumer products, but for a vehicle, I think it makes more sense. It also depends on your maintenance skills and desire to work on the vehicle. Now back to our regularly scheduled thread topic.

I have not ordered yet, however, so far I've gotten quotes here in the Phoenix area anywhere from $480 over invoice to $500 under and I keep the rebates. I've got one dealer I think will go to $700 under but we'll see. I've gotten quotes from both Tomeygun and Butch at Dishman and have not been able to beat their prices here in the valley, but I may get close enough to avoid the crosscountry travel. We'll see. I have to make a decision soon.

Lets make this interesting... I'll throw in another $150. 00 in discount to cover some of your airfare and fuel back, I understand 1400 miles is a bit far...

Besides... I am bored today and need somthing to do, hahaha
