Hey Guys.

I'm looking for a little input in regards to swapping a 48RE OUT, and dropping in the NV5600 6 SPD.

Running 90 Hp DDP's, AFE Intake, PPE Tuner, Turbo Back MBRP, Ispro Pillars.

Has anyone done this? Any idea's? Advice? Do's? Do-NOTS?

Looking for everything needed for the swap as well.

Selling my 48RE, T-Case,, Etc as well.

Give me a shout when you've got a chance!

Thanks for your time!

For the money you are looking to spend I would think it would be easier and cheaper to sell your truck and buy one with the manual transmission. From what I've heard you have to switch everything from major componets down to complete computer system/

Your description looks like you are running the stock turbo. You are running way too much fuel and it wouldn't surprise me if you dropped a valve seat some time from egt's way over 1500 degrees. Whatever you do, get a pyrometer and monitor it carefully. I agree that the swap is nothing easy like in the old days. Also, a lot of 5600s have spun the bearing race in the case from lack of oil to the rear mainshaft bearing; that is why Std. Trans. developed the Power Lube package. Since it is an orphan trans, it could get expensive to build if that happened.

Donor truck is about the best way to do it or you are sourcing a lot of little parts that can be hard to find.

Considering the lack of parts for an NV5600, the plethora of options available for the 48RE, and the amount of work involved it doesn't make sense unless you are just looking for a project.

Hello, new to the forum. I have a 2004 5.9 3500 dually that I bought not realizing it had been converted from an automatic to the nv5600. Cruise control does not work and I have read a few threads on other sites stating the ecu and pcm need to be replaced. Any ideas would be appreciated.
