2005 "Surging"

I have a 2005 3/4 Ton 4door 4wd longbox 6sp manual... ... . Have noticed when going down hill on cruise control, engine seems to "surge", but when you go uphill or any slight load, seems to run fine... ... .....



Any Ideas?? it has around 75,000 miles on it, changed fuel filter with no change in "surging", am running a EDGE Mileage box which has been on it for past 40,000 miles with no problem. Use POWER SERVICE additive in fuel... . dont have a fuel pressure gauge, sorry??!!

My first thought would be to change the fuel control actuator, and if that doesn't help; start saving money for new nozzles or injectors. My 04. 5 did what you described, and the fix came with new nozzles and rebuilt bodies after I had one fail.

Mine was fixed with new injectors as well

Maybe cruise control kicking in and out. Mine will do that under the same conditions and I have new injectors.
