2005 to 2006

Hey guys as of now i own a 2005 standard cab 4x4 which i love and have put alot of time and money into but with the kiddo i've been questioning a quad cab and with the newest rebates im really considering it. I have seen a couple of negative threads on the 06 and i just wanted to see if anyone knew of any common problems occuring in 06 that didnt with 05's? Any input is appreciated.

I've had an 05, now own an 06..... not much difference between the two except front end and interior (neither make any diff to me) and a few additional options like the full center console, elec rear slider, the 06 had the stupid reverse alarm tsb installed (which i didnt particularly want)... they both drive the same... . 06 is quieter in the interior... . all in all, really the same truck... .

I would have to agree with him on that one..... I owned an 05 and when they were doing 0% i traded for an 06 and really there not much difference in the 2... ...



As mentioned above i also think the inside of cab is quieter then the 05.....



The only other diff is the interior changed a bit but not bad... .



I like the 06 seats better... . they not fuzzy so everything doesn't stick to them like lint and etc,etc..... That's my . 02

I have an 06 now and sold my o5. I like the 06 better. It's quieter inside and it seems like the doors have more of a tank like thud when you shut them. Could be from more insulation in them and the cab though? Headlights are improved.

It's not a recall on 06s, it was always standard. The recall applied the alarm to 03-05.

If your getting a auto trans the 06 are different in that you can permanently lockout 4th gear. 05s had normal-and towhaul settings . 06s have normal-towhaul, and overdrive off settings.

The Jake brake from Cummins/Mopar can be installed on the 06 automatic and is waranteed through DC. The 06 intercooler is metal. I am not sure but I think the intercooler on the 05 was plastic?
