I have a 2006 dodge ram 3500 diesel that holds in first gear. If i let off the gas it will shift. Some times it will shift fine but must of the time i have to let off. I have changed the filter, fluid, pressure sensor, governor sensor, pcm, and both batterys. Any ideas on what it could be?

I had a guy at a local shop look at it. He was the one that told me the pressure sensor was bad. It is funny when i changed the pcm it changed gears but the security light was flashing so i reset it and it went back to not changing. As for the band i will have to check it this weekend.

Thanks,

What are you calling a PCM? A 2006 Diesel Ram does not have a PCM, only the ECU which contains all the TCM for trans functions.

I have the 06 2500 and I am having the same issue. Does your truck upshift up a gear and then shift back to the gear it needs to be in when accelerating to speed? I had my trans flushed a couple of weeks ago and the mechanic stated that everything looked tight. When the mechanic took the truck for a test drive he stated that the trucks TPS was going out. I thought 06 did not have a TPS, just a APPS?!?

What did you find out with your truck?

You may check the TCC solenoid/harness. But first i'd change the filter to a '96 style filter for better fluid flow, and remove the check ball in the cooler line. I'm anything but a trans expert but theres are all issues that i have very recently gone thru and resolved.
