Archived 2006 5.9 with Jacobs Exhaust Brake

Blew this out in mountains. Think it is my oem vacum pump diaphragm but not sure. If it is can I just replace it with one from Genos and is it easy to do? I'm in Yellowstone and home is in Fingerlakes region on NYS.

Do you have the stock belt with you so that you can bypass the vacuum pump and carry on??

Or do you have a little time to wait for the Geno's replacement??

Pully is fine was thinking of replacing only the diaphragm that Genos sells as a seperate item

You can do that. That's what I did when mine failed, replaced it with the Heavy Duty diaphragm. You will need to remove the unit to change it as there is oil in there to deal with.

I cant just unbolt the diaphragh and bolt new one on?

There is a self-contained oil reservoir in the area circled. Gravity is not your friend with the pump mounted to the engine. It has to be filled upright.

Thanks! I will get part from Genos and have it delivered to RV park in Cody. Take a look at it there and change it out if I think I can do it.
Not happy being without it going from here over to Cody as there are a couple of high passes to go through.

I'm trying to remember but I'm thinking I used Rotella. I'll got out in the garage and see if I kept the paperwork that came with the replacement.

Here is a pretty good video, you will not be tearing the chamber apart like he does but shows how it all works. 1 oz of engine oil in there.

Also I removed the pump from the bracket on the truck rather than remove bracket and all..
