2006 ABS Lite, Brake Lite, Speedo Issue

All, Our new to us 2006 Dodge 3500 [3 days] exhibited the following



ABS lite on - Brake warning lite on - first time cycling the key fixed, next day - stayed on.



Brake fluid is fine. So son takes to dealer, on the way the speedo dies.



Thoughts??? To say the least - not too happy, especially since our 97 12v is down for Head gasket replacement.....

Sorry to hear of your problem Luke. There was/is a recall for the ABS, maybe that will have something to do with your problems. Someone else had the same 2 problems about this time last year, maybe they will chime in and tell you what the problem was AND how it was fixed. Hope you get it back promptly. It is tough to have more than one vehicle down at the same time.

It's the speedo sensor on the rear diff, it's up top, you can try taking it out and wiping off the filings on it but more than likely you will need to replace it . You can reset it with OBD II scanner.

Don, Thanks - Shop called and said its done, I have not talked to them. But if it is the sensor / clogged with filings, then a drain refill on the rear diff might be a good idea.



Truck has 34K on it.

All, Update.



There is a mislabeling of fuses in the 2006 manual. If the cig lighter fuse blows, the dash goes as well, however the fuse replacing guide shows wrong fuse. THis happened to my son, and I didn't realize the IPOD plugged into the cig lighter was still not working.



DOdge dealer corrected the manual and replaced the fuse... . Glad it was only a mislabel, but hope this might help someone else in the middle of a trip etc.

Does this recall apply to all '06 trucks? I have not gotten any letter or anything to alert me to it. Is there a TSB on it?
