Competition Fastest spooling twin setup?

Is it just me or does it seem like this year there has been allot of breakage!

It's going to be a record for me for money spent, parts broken and total down time..... 5 months non-moving by the end of the year on a daily driver..... and my backup truck has a leaking head gasket..... good times.

I hate to jinx myself but all I did was loose a freeze plug on the rear of the head! I spent alot in aftermarket goodies but been lucky with breakage and downtime this year!

You ain't a kidding Jim! My work truck . . 2 6 speed rebuilds, 1 Con FE, 2 fan clutches, 6 tires, FCA, misc tow bills and payments to numerous people that have helped me out, :{ and now it is sitting broke down in SoCal with fuel system issues as we speak. Have enough in repairs this year where Uncle Sam won't be getting anything from me though!

I hear ya guys this is my second year into it now this year alone I've had 2 transmission's go, a shaft, flexplate and a driveline. It's been down for about 2 months total now and I'm looking for another transmission builder.

im feeling your pain ,,, currently getting head gasket installed as we speak, what make s it even worse is everytime i have ripped down i want to get something else done while it apart. Last head gasket ended up being oring, cam , 518s , and the list goes on soo yessssss im feeling your pain.

The maximum power game gets real expensive, even adding less than the max possible hp can get pricey. That is why I quit doing that in 2003, because I knew I would have to start spending a lot of money and the truck would be unreliable for what I had intended it in the first place. It was alsoo getting to be less fun becdause I had learned most of what I wanted to get out of the hp pursuit on the 12 valves, and the kidding around at dyno days and on the forum had been replaced with less jovial comments.

Yeah, it has been quite a year. Transfer case, rear diff, front diff, and front double cardan ujoint. Actually I didn't "break" any of these, but it was close. I found metal flake in the transfer case fluid, lost preload on the rear diff, front u-joint was making noise. None of these items had been replaced before, so it's just maintenance right? :-laf

Jim, Joe is talking about when his truck had rabbies :-laf

Joe, I am sure it was in good fun :D you have to be thick skinned for sure sometimes.

In the last calender year or so it's been lets see: 2 water injection pumps, 2 pump cam shafts with rollers and bearings, one set of P&B's, one complete pump, one exhaust housing for the 66, one set of injectors that were salvageable, blown rear freeze plug, two bottom turbo's... . when I ran Twins, bent push rods (twice) and a cam.

The head is getting checked out now and looks fine and the short block looks fine... ... . no piston damage at all.

I guess I should be thankful that it didn't kick a rod out or come apart like Eric Stangley's truck did... ... ... I would be dead in the water.

Gained parts: 215 pump in good shape

Lost parts: One injection pump, Bottom turbo, EDM'd DV holders, 2 sets of DV's, 1 set of . 093 lines

Parts collecting dust: Twin piping kit with a 44 mm wastegate... no biggie!
