I'll second the Ranch Hand brand, but I don't know whether or not they have the 06 models yet. Another is http://www.toughcountry.com/. Both have some good looking bumpers. If I had to do it again, I'd probably go with tough country. I've never had one and am completely satisfied with the quality of my ranch hands, but I like the look of the tough country more.

Pawpaw,

I just bought the www.reunel.com polished S/S front/rear bumpers and must say these are bad*****$!!and cool  :D :-laf . They do an awesome job with fit and finish as well as great A++ customer satisfaction. Check them out.

Yes, they have the '06 bumpers listed on their web site.

There are a lot of good guards & bumpers out there, but there is a lot of junk too. The Ranch Hand brand just happened to be the one I could easily put my hands on and see for myself that it is a substantial piece of hardware that (I believe) will hold up for years and years.

I've had the Ranchhand guard on mine since new, looks great. Fit & finish are top notch and actually saved my bumper when a girl on a hill in a Jetta was learning stick shift, she rolled back into me. Damaged her bumper pretty bad, not paint or scratches on the Ranchhand. Sorry not an '06, but it's the same except for the area near the park lamps, the '06 Ranchhand follows the headlamp design where it wraps around the side.

I see a number of front guards/bumpers on Rams that look to weigh 500 lbs hanging 5 feet in front of their axles. Must really help with ball joints and general front end performance. I don't see that many posts for the Aussie product Ute Bullbar. It's 3/8s polished aluminum with 2 inch bars around the lights and fenders. Also weighs close to what you take off. It's formed from one piece and fits the body lines perfectly(not shop cut/welded). Oh well.

Oh, you've seen my truck! I know these bumpers look like they weigh a ton, but looks can be deceiving. The Ranch Hand Legend for the 3rd Gen Rams weighs in at 255 lbs. The factory stuff that is removed weighs about 80 lbs (my estimate).

Somehow I fail to see how adding a measly 170 lbs to the front of a 7,000 lb truck would have any serious effect on "ball joints and general front end performance".

What I can tell you is that I did not notice any handling change when I had mine put on. I have not had any front end problems or even any abnormal tire wear (where I would first expect to see anything strange). In fact, I have over 63,000 miles on the factory Michelins.
