on my 06, the tach reads low around 500 rpm, at idle when the banks dispay shows the normal 750ish idle rpm. then when you rev up to normal opperating tach speeds it gets accurate. Also the temp guage never goes all the way down to rest at the 140 mark. it sits a little bit up past 140 when its ice cold. anyone have this problem or know what causes it? thanks!

Not sure, take the Banks junk off and see what happens. No pun intended, just not a fan of Banks products. Sounds like his programmer is messing with your gauges. I read another thread similar to this about tach being off 1000rpm and they changed his gauge cluster under warranty. It was an '05 though... ...

I hope u are in warranty!!
See past thread about the 06 and have to replace the entire cluster & having dealer program it!!

(Been there!! there is about 20 other people with that same problem)

I have the same problem with my truck. Dodge replace the entire cluster, the problem went away for about 15000 miles. Now that I am out of warranty, the problem has came back. The tunner is not the problem. A new cluster list for about 450 dollars. I have been looking to find another one from a junk yard, with no luck.

so the problem is deffinatly the cluster? how hard is it to change, yes i am under warrantee untill the end of 2010, i am going to wait and bring the truck in with all of its problems right before the warantee ends. . steering box, cluster, and lets see what else can go wrong with a $45,000 4 year old truck the 47000 miles on it... unreal...

To date, I have only replaced the water pump at 108,000 miles and the cluster at about 75,000 miles. Just replaced the brakes at 125,000 miles. So she has been good to me so far.

just got the truck back from dealer, them said guages were not working due to bad "TIPM" module. replaced it under warranty and still have same problem. can you guys tell me if your coolant temp guage goes all the way down and rests on stop when the truck is ice cold with key on? thanks

I took mine in to the dealer for the same problem with the tach. This was the second time. They told me they had checked for codes and found nothing. All they had to do is start it up and let it idle for a few and the tach will drop around five hundred rpms. My warranty runs out June 21 and it will be back in again.
