In an effort to eliminate only a couple of things that kept the 2005 DHRA/DieselPower! Drag Racing Series from being absolutely perfect, DHRA has gone to a national point’s system. Before the tracks would keep the point’s in house and little or no communication was available to DHRA on standings. Also, members weren’t aware of the program’s potential and awards. The new points system is dynamic in a way that allows complete flexibility for the tracks and allows DHRA racers a chance to compete against everyone in the program rather than those just at their home track.
You will have to check with the track you wish to participate at how they are administering the program. You can follow this link: http://www.dhraonline.com/?GROUP=series&PAGE=dragindex to read the bullet points of details for the point’s championship. Section 3 of the rulebook will soon have the new program listed. Also click on the participating tracks link to find the closest track. There are several tracks joining on this year from Washington to South Carolina. They won’t make the list until I receive a contract though so keep checking the link. Members will be competing for the $10,000 purse, the “Rudy” and the title.
