2006 Diesel changes

What are the important changes, diesel engine wise?



Have they gone to EGR yet?

As far as I know, there are no significant changes to the engine between 2005 and 2006, other than that you can get the exhaust brake on the 2006 with an auto transmission.

Even though the dealer claims 2003 year auto trans are not recommended for an exhust brake ,Ive installed a "Pac brake" and it works just fine. Note-(must not be in over drive when useing ) -Dan

No EGR yet. The new 06 auto is controled by the same box as the motor from what the dealer tells me. That is why it is a easy upgrade to the exaust brake from Mopar. My local bomb shop tells me the same and that all the plugs are different from the 05 so I can not get a Juice off of a 05' to work. Just the EZ. Hope I do not have to wait as long as I did for the 03' Juice.

Went to the dealer tonight to look @ the 06's since they did not have any 04's or 05's.



Obviously there are significant changes to the interior seating & dash etc compared to my 04. 5 & it did not appeal to me at all & I thought the seats were extremely uncomfortable compared to my 04. 5.



Engine seems the same... great... . but the New 6 speed was very rough shifting & I certainly was not used to the different pattern.
