Attention: TDR Forum Junkies first, I am not familiar with autos.
But, I thought i read before that the allison transmission couldn't handle the origional power in the duramax and cut power back in something like 1st and 5th gears? If that is true then they can have a 500hp engine and just cut pawer back for the transmission and truck to handle, they can rate it at whatever they want correct?
