2006 Mega Nice

Picked her up today from Tomeygun with 6 miles. Already shows 78 with the Snugtop installed. Everything was perfect except for the dent in the hood. The Snugtop matched the Khaki color perfect. The room is awesome... . I have to use radios to talk to backseat passengers..... !!!!!!!

I went from a '99 QC 5 speed to a '06 Mega Cab Auto. The exhaust brake is well worth the money along with the remote start. If your in the market you need to contact Tomeygun. A little Jagermeister (alot) will get you along way..... Everything was perfect except for the big dent in the hood... .

We will talk about that later. Pics will follow... . Too dark right now... !

Exhaust brake with an auto????? I need to play catch up 'cause I didn't know this was available yet. Heard few things about them working on it but nothing offical. My next truck will probably be an Auto then... . and definitely from TomeyGun!!! Maybe even a MegaCab!

It was a Mopar remote start, uses a 30 second delay to make sure coils are done heating intake... It is a separate remote, BTW

50k are you kidding. Is that really the going price? I'm sorry guys but why in the world are you paying that and how can you float the pmts? If that is what is going to be asked then keep it, nice or not. If I could one for under 32k maybe but not 50k. Not to insult those that have bought a new one, just saying that had to hurt.

My brother just picked up his 2500 MC 4x4 SLT Cummins 6-speed from Dave Smith for a little over $36K, not including the 35/12. 50/17 tires, leveling kit, cab lights, chrome fender strips, and windows tinted to match. I think $36K for this truck is fantastic. The truck is incredible; very quiet, ridiculously roomy, and it just looks mean with those tires. He's a member here and he's going to post pictures soon. I love it. Can't wait for elk hunting, the Ford boys won't be complaining now.

Update::

I forgot I started this post then went out of town for the weekend. The dent in the hood was my fault!!! :{ Tomey called me Saturday and was discussing the report he was going to write.

It all strarted when she was 7hours old and 78 miles. I was carrying a cooler up a ladder in front of the truck in the garage to put it on a shelf about 10 feet high when it went backwards off my shoulder onto the hood. OUCH :{ Not too bad. The hood deflector should cover it up.



As far as the EXHAUST BRAKE, you've got to get one of these. Works like a charm on the auto. Hardly ever use the brakes.

The remote start is a MOPAR and works great also.

Back from the weekend with 525 miles and no more dents yet... The first one is always the worst so I just got it out of the way early... .

Overhead is reading 14. 3 MPG but I will refuel tonight and hand figure... . I will try to post some pictures tonight. Night and day compared to the '99 QC.

$75. 00 worth of fuel. OUCH!!! Hand calculated to 14. 97 MPG. The best I seen on the overhead was 14. 3.



The exhaust brake is a very sweet option. I would think it would work well towing a 5th wheel. When I pulled mine with the '99 it was a 5speed and no e-brake. I hardly ever use the service brakes except under 20 MPH when the e-brake turns off.



Got too dark for pictures so I will do it in the morning.

just picked up my 06 mega and it is awesome, can't believe i really have a dodge full size crew cab. i will post pics later have already had some stuff done to it. Does anybody know if you can adjust the head lights for up and down projection?

I was washing her today and noticed there is no rubber trim or seal around the top of the windshield. There is trim on the sides but not the top. It's just glass to metal. Anyone else notice this or is there a piece missing? Probably another attempt to save a buck!!!!

That's normal. All the 3rd gen trucks are that way. Mine doesn't leak!

Anyone else with a 1ton Mega notice that the front end bottoms out after going over a high speed bump? The ride is excellent but it just seems like it hits the bumpstops when you go over a large speedbump slowly and try to make it bounce!!

You can't trust the hand calculating method, you MUST rely on the overhead computer for all mileage figures.



Nice truck but your cooler made me cringe all the way down here in Texas. The first dent is always the worst. I backed over a 55 gallon drum/garbage can at the motocross track and 2 months later my canopy fell from the overhead hoist on to my truck so far but it doesn't make any of the incidents easier to take when it's your own fault...

I figured putting the first one in myself will ease my mind, and give me control of the severity.
