That one looks like mine I picked up on Friday -the snow. Mine is a Bright Silver Metallic. I just noticed on my sticker it has my name. It says that it was built especially for me. I am making around a 800 mile round trip pulling a 6000pd trailer not that heavy. It should help break in. We will give it a little time before I hook up to the dozer and the gooseneck. I ordered my exhaust brake yesterday from a Cummins dealer. He said it will be just under $1000. 00 with tax. I love my truck I ordered it with everything but auto and rear window defrost.

I drove my 97 2500 4x4 tonight to town and back. It was night and day in the ride and driving. I miss the noise of the 12v in the new truck.

Yes, they do cost alot but if is 1/2 as good truck as my 97 it will be OK. I still have the OEM batterys getting ready to hit 10 years WOW.

mega cab

i ordered my MC last week. laramie, at, 4x4 loaded with 4:10 gears, for 35" tires. i plan on buying a Lorenz lift set up, mostly for cost reasons. this site is great its like an addiction. i got a great price from dave smith motors then had dealers in AZ compete for business. i ended up getting the same deal in AZ. $43700 + ttl. i thought it was a good deal. only problem is i ordered black and i cant get a straight answer if it is really black or the black with metal flake in it. cant wait till late january to pick it up and install lift and tires.

If ordered after December 7th - It will be Brilliant black metallic (nice IMO)

The Regular black was cut off like around Mid-November, I bet your getting a metallic black truck :(

thanks tomeygun. i ordered it on 11-30-2005. i called today and dodge said it was just stored. it took only 9 days to build it? so im still not sure what black i will recieve.

your salesguy should know... PXR is the new one

Bare with me a little guys, I drove my first dodge and also mega last night and I was impressed. I will order in the spring but I do have some questions for present owners. The biggest thing I noticed (from driving my SD for 5yrs) is that I could not see over the hood even with the seat lifted high and I'm 5'7. Compared to the SD I could judge the right coner by the view. Is it the slope of the hood or me. (and no short jokes)Two, I drove it with the nav unit. I had a garmin street pilot and it gave alot of info (speed, detailed map except some desert road in NV )and gave you a good idea. Is it as detailed especially if I increase the tire size on the truck. Three, I drove it at night and if it wasn't for the fog lights on giving it extra light. The illumination was good at best.

I was impressed with the braking (wow) and no major nose dive. but the most impressive was the turning rad. My SD could not even compare too it. The interior noise level was bad because I could hear the saleman talking to me Ha Ha

mega nice

thanks greg for showcasing my photo of my rig ( silver mega in the snow ). just converted from my trusty 2000 f 350 super duty dually. i am a new member to this informative forum. the tires on my new ride are pro comp extreme at's. e rated 305 65 17. they do look a little small but in e rated tires the picking is slim. pro comp says they will have 33 12. 50 17's soon. i have 373 gears. i would like to run toyo mt 35's but i am concerned i will lose too much go power with the larger tires. as is, this truck really moves and handles extremely well with the kore chase suspension upgrade.

the procomps are rated to 99 mph which is good, i have seen the speed limiter ( 109 mph ) a few times on long stretches of black top. also finding after market wheels with anything close to the factory backspace has been a challenge. thanks to everyone for all the great info on this site.

I wouldn't think tire size would matter as GPS calculates it's own speed based on your movement relative to the constellation of satellites.

What he said!

Only thing that may be an issue is if the Dodge GPS system has some type of "dead reckoning" capability when the unit loses satellite reception, such as when in a city with tall buildings or going through a tunnel. At that point the system would use the vehicle speed and possibly even the compass to keep your posistion somewhat accurate. Garmin makes such a system that must be hard wired to the vehicle. I am not sure if the Dodge NAV units do this "dead reckoning" or not. I suspect NO???

We're built the same and I've always had the same problem. The view from the Ford is better, but you get used to it.
