From what Iv red and herd from different dealers it is supposed to be a limited edition, and no option for the diesel. That's what I have herd and been told.

Any news on the next model PW? I am wondering whether we will be able to order the diesel engine or not.

HCuervo

The original Power Wagon did not come with a diesel and DC wants to keep the vehicle as it was originally. The only 2 packages offered in '06 are the 25P(manual) and 26P) auto transmission.

I think you are right. The mileage sucks on that gasoline engine. I doubt they'll sell many with gasoline at these prices. It's a nice truck, though. Wonder what were they thinking.

the mileage sucks cause it for starters has 4. 56 gears. made for climbing, not highway use. second. it's 4x4 with alot of SFS wind resistance.

would I like to see a Cummins in that thing, you betcha, but at 970 pounds, soft ground would become a problem quick when the front end takes a dive faster than the titanic. but I guess thats what the front winch is there for,

speaking of the winch. it is actualy a part of the front frame cross member. the intercooler and front of the engine would have to be redesigned with the winch in it's current possition.

when it comes down to it, I think we all have the real power wagon. minus the cool fancy stock equipment ;)

I'm afraid that intercooler/winch clearance issue makes this dream a permanent no go. I would really consider trading if they ever made it work.

Is that why the new Daytona is a truck?

While the new Daytona is a truck now, they will be coming out with the Daytona package in the Charger soon.

While they probably won't put the deisel in the PW, they possibly will build the new Jeep Rescue concept with the Cummins. That thing would be an awsesome backroad rig!

The possibility of the 6. 1 litre in the PW while interesting, is going to be tough for the short term. DC hasn't figured out yet how to mass produce the SRT8's yet... . or they are just slowing production to keep demand up!

Whoops! Daytona package (in the Charger) was just added to TOPS. Fully loaded runs about $35,000 with all available options.

PS: the exhaust brake is a dealer installed option.

2006 Pw

We own a 1949 green/black fenders PW and it did not come with an auto

transmission. That is why we are puzzled that all the PW's for sale around this area are ADA models. We'd rather stroke the gears. What's wrong with the DC people?

Hopefully this answer is not to late for you as I just got back from vacation. Last year DC had problems with the manual transmission and also it was partly production problems. The '06 model is up and running and orderable right now in the manual. Delivery could be as early as late July/early August. Pricing/rebates are unknown but you know how we sell so give me a call.

Thanks for the reply. Kellogg is a little of a hike from here, although it would sure be an interesting trip for the family.

We have people flying in from New York, the Florida Keys, Alaska, southern California and every place in between. In the summer we have camping, fishing, rafting, world class/world ranked golf courses and sightseeing like you would not believe. We also have a bike trail (72 miles) that runs along Lake Couer'de Alene then follows the river until it winds up into the mountains. In the winter we offer free snow skiing at the ski resort that is literally right across the street. Also in the winter is approximately 500 miles of groomed and ungroomed snowmobiling. It would definitely be interesting for your family. (PS: we also sell GM so get your name on the list for a Corvette. . lol)
