Other than the Durano-ized front end, I think it's a major improvement. Better seats, better dash with the next gen radios & Nav, updated interior. Thumbs up overall. Shame about the front end but I'd still buy one if I was looking.

Wow, I really like that 2006. Not sure if I'd cough up 38k though... but I thought it would be well over 40k...

I hope the new seat covers are better than the 2005 premium cloth seats, mine are "Deluxe" lint collectors :( .

Like the front end... . dont see alot of changes on the surface.

The carpeted fold downs are nice but now you need a mat to protect the fold down carpet. :-laf

Those sections on top/bottom of the rear slider are new I think. They don't look like mine. Those are cool.

I hope that wood grain plastic is an option because that is the worst part of the truck.

I simply cannot stand it when dealers put their own sticker on the bodywork of vehicles. Man, how bloody arrogant is that? The license plate rings are bad enough but at least it only takes a minute to detach them and leave them in the dealer's lot where they belong.

I agree 100% that's why when I buy a vehicle from the dealer I tell them that they can either remove their stickers from the truck or pay me for advertising for them. They always seem to be taken back that I should make such a request but hey I'm the one paying the big bucks for the vehicle.

I looked at a couple of '06's at Hartzeim Dodge in San Jose (Five star scumbags... . went there to buy my buddy a truck last Fri. and they were marking up the employee discount on an '05. Needless to say we walked) and really liked the new truck, aside from the cloth seats. While the shape may be better, the material feels really cheap, and looks the part too. I guess it matches the fake wood. I hope they offer the aluminum look as well. It will look a lot better.

I'm definitely going to get leather if I order a new truck. Megacab, I can't wait...

I agree with you. I will not let any dealer put their sticker on any vehicle or RV I buy unless they are willing to pay me for advertising. I sure don't like those huge headlights.

I don't think the fold downs are carpeted. It looks more like a Line-X type texture applied to the metal to me. Like many of us have done aftermarket.

**Edit** The forward facing piece may not be carpet, but the main floor sure is.

Have you guys sat in one yet??? You had better before making the seat judgement. Sat in one the other day, that same cloth and man was it hard, very uncomfortable. Its the same thing with the new D'ingo's, very firm seat, no plushness at all. Sure hope the leather ones are more comfortable!!

2006

I saw new 2006 last week in western Va. and even the salesman did not like the new cloth seat. I do think the front end will grow on you.

HMMmmm - wasn't that what they said about the Edsel, Studebaker and Yugo? ;)

Sorry, but I make it a practice to NOT buy food, vehicles or other items I hafta "get used to"...

There's enough excellent alternatives that look/taste good right outta the box, to spend good $$$ on stuff I have to "get used to"... ;) :D

I am having the opposite reaction to the headlights. First time I saw pics of those in another thread on here I thought they were a bit too much in the Chevy cat eye direction but not bad. Now I am getting less and less "used to it". The more I see of them, the less I like them.

That is really the only thing I don't like all that much besides the plastic wood look. Neither of which would stop me from getting one but I'm glad I have an 05 as it turns out.

I agree with you 100%. But I go 1 step further, I tell the dealer I will not accept the truck if their sticker is on there, or they are prepared to make the payments every month in exchange for advertising rights on my truck!

I dunno though, I don't like the Durango front end & center dash area, but the rest looks great! Guess it will have to grow on me..... but looks better than a Furd Stupid Duty.
