I just notice that the padding under the seat fabric has ripped?#@$%! I have never seen such a thing! This is my 5th Dodge, my 99 had 180,000 on it and the seat was fine? I can get replacement padding any other ideas? I called my dealer it $150 for the pad and about the same to install. I guess I will fix this and put some steps on, this is bul@#%& Replacement seats? Are leather seats any better? Looking for ideas. I don't get in and out of the truck any different than I ever did. My company truck 2005 Chevy 2500 HD has double the miles and the seats look great#@$%!

I have leather. Not that comfortable. I added a section of 1/2" high density foam between the springs and padding to help the comfort. It helped some but still not as comfortable as my '98 60/40 cloth seats.

I had leather inst. $1500. Big improvement.

I acc. dropped a small piece of choc. from an icecream. It milted.

In cleaning it (I got all choc. out), but it dried with a 4 inch round bullseye, perm. stain. Real nice look for my new truck.

The dealer wanted about $2000. On-line I found a company, and got a nice set for $1500. Inst. in CA.

Good Luck, Ray

Yes these seats are terrible. I was thinking of doing the foam thing, but I'd rathter get a good replacement if one exist. Any ideas:confused:

+1 . the 06 seats do suck! i have grey, they stain like crazy and the left side of my driver seat is beat up with only 34K miles.

My seat has two small holes from bars under the fabric that are like nails some grinder work should have been done before install as they catch my pants on the way out. wonderful

That looks pretty good, but I didn't see anything about the padding.
Good price too but I'd want some seat padding to raise up the center and flatten the "wings". If I don't sit right in the center of the seat, the wings will make me sit non-vertical and make my back hurt.

Speak to the owner. He's a great Montana guy and will add the padding. I wish I'd gone with the camo though. I bought the rear and front pockets also. These things fit like OJ's glove when he stopped taking his arthritis medicine. Nice tight fit.

Tinman, that's the exact reason I added the foam and carpet. It did help but not as much as I'd hoped. My "bucket" didn't fit the bucket seat.

Like DANAVILLA said, try the closed-cell, high density foam & carpet samples.

If you have an upholstery warehouse in your area, call them & see if they have the closed-cell foam. I used 3/4" foam & it worked very well.

Takeing the seats out & rebuilding them with the foam & carpet samples is not that hard. I'm far from being a mechanic & it was not really hard, for me. My total outlay of money for the fix was just under $10. 00 & I still have enough foam to do two more seats. I fixed both front seats for that price.

My problem was, after about an hour & a half of driving, my right thigh & leg were really hurting. I thought there was something wrong with my hips. I would almost fall out of the truck & sould walk-off the discomfort after a few minutes. Then get back in & drive for another 1-1/2 hours. I just completed a 3600+ mile trip in 11 days & had no unusual discomfort, at all. That trip would have just about killed me, before.
