This is a follow-up to moving the sirius antenna since I had a cabover camper which blocked the signal.

I called several dealers. they all gave me bum info about where the satellite receiver was. Most told me it was in the radio.

Pulled the dash and radio, did'nt have to. :{

I found the satellite receiver in my truck. It is just above the glove compartment. Access is by removing the glove compartment. Very easy. :)

Another spot to connect to is by the right kick panel on the passenger side.

There is a connector there, that you can disconnect and just insert your new antenna and then just run it back under the sill plate or through the floor.

I hope this saves somebody some time. :D

Working good for me now. Oo.

Good Luck

thanks! The service manual shows it mounted against the back of the cab, behind the PS rear seat! The service manual also shows 2 antenna connectors. I will have to check it out tomorrow morning.

Does this mean I can replace my factory radio and the factory sirius box with a new Alpine head unit and Alpine Sirius box without having to replace the antenna? I am asking, because I have the 06' 3500 quad cab with the 4 speaker system.

Thanks,

Mark H

If you have the same truck as me, I would expect the same connection under the right kick panel for the antenna.

Just lift up the plastic sill piece and pull the whole plastic panel to the rear, it all snaps into place for reinstallation. no screws.

You may not even have to do that, if the new box has the same connections as the old one.

Just switch the antenna(s) at the sirius box.

good luck,

tom

This is latest update on sirius antenna relocation for cab over camper.

Got new low profile antenna and placed it on the dash, under a dash cover.

Now it works great.

My cabover was for a standard cab and now I have an extended cab, so there is no signal blockage.

Didn't have to run the wire outside the cab, just ran it up under the door weatherstrip and onto the dash.

2006 sirius and camper

remove the glove box and look up you will see a square metal box. connection is yellow and red. push on top and pull out. plug in your new sirius magnetic antenna and set it on the dash. works great. yellow and red square connection but once its pulled out its round.

I finally got my antenna moved, I had to use the connection behind the passenger kick panel. I tried the one behind the glove box and it wouldn't fit. Also I had to set it out on the hood to make it work. I tried on the dash and it kept cutting out. Thanks everyone for the tips, Tom.

Thanks again Tom, I take it that this will plug right in to the dodge connection? Ken

I got mine at best buy. Looks the same as the one tanderson got.

Any place with satellite radios should carry them. :D
