Anybody else running a Bullydog triple dog w/outlook monitor. I assumed I was going to have to run a temp probe for this feature to be used, but the outlook picks up a reading from the OBDII port. The reading when truck is warm and towing a 15K 5th ranges from 100-125 F. I would have to assume the factory temp probe in inside the transmission pan after the trans cooler? Anybody else using this setup and see these low numbers? I read the typically the temps are in the upper 100's and not to exceed 220. For now I can only use this number as a reference.

are you auto or manual?

Jeff I have the auto and outlook monitor. My temp readings are consistently low. In fact I changed out the outlook once because of it. The sensor must be located near the cooled oil return. I have found that shooting the pan with an infrared thermometer I get readings about 20 degrees higher than the outlook reads.

I have a BD x-monitor which uses the stock tranns temp sensor. It uses a T-Tap at the ECM to read the voltage. My runns at about 145-165 empty. I recently towed about 7-8K cargo trailer up some steep muddy canyon roads and got it up to 220 F.

Jeff yours seems low to me.

48RE automatic... Low is what I thought. I wouldn't think the cooling system would be that efficient. I guess the only way to assure a correct reading is to add another probe on the outlet of the pan going to the cooler. I'm not sure what DC uses this reading for since it's there... safety feature?

No kidding, I think my truck would be on fire before the high trans temp light came on.

This time of year 100-125 is normal for my truck. It can get as high as 150 in constant stop & go traffic. I was doing doughnuts for a good while a few months back in a new construction site and after my little venture my autometer gauge read over 200 and the light came on shortly there after. No problems though. Weird is that it never quite got to 220 but I still tripped the idiot light on the dash for a second. Also when the idiot light comes on the truck will not rev past 2K and goes into a limp mode until the light goes of and the trans cools down, just an FYI ;)

my outlook never read the right temps either, from 32 to 90 at most i switch to a mechanical autometer gauge and 100 to 170 range now the outlook just don't work right was my guess i got rid of it and my egts read wrong to about a hundred degrees higher than my autometer gauge. i think its just a cheap product

i have the same setup with a serarate temp gauge and it reads between 140 and 180 ihave towed gross weight of 40000 and it never went over 180
