I was out on Kelley Blue Book looking up the price on a 3500 mega cab. Did Dodge change the single rear wheel GVWR from 9900 to 10,100? Here is what is on the KBB website:

"Wheel Conversion, Single Rear • Laramie -541. 00 -615. 00

(N/A w/Tires-TP9 or TPZ) (Deletes Std Clearance Lights)

All Models Include 10,100-lb GVWR & LT265/70R17E BSW Tires.

SLT Includes All Models Equipment Plus Chrome Steel Wheels.

Laramie Includes All Models Equipment Plus Chrome Aluminum Wheels. "

I ordered at 3500 QCAB 4x4 SRW and the '07 on the lot that I looked at was rated at 10,100#. That was one reason I went for the 3500. Here in Nevada we have to smog any Diesel P'up under 10001# GVWR.

I bet Dennis hit the nail on the head as to why Dodge raised the GVW. Its all in the CARB numbers. they take the pollution of all the vehicles sold and come up with an average. By pushing the 3500 srw's over 10K, I bet they raised them above the number that forced them to include there emissions into the car/light truck total.

Well I think it generally sucks as the rules and regs for interstate commerce require USDOT# physical and log books over 10k.

Guess this truck will have to last me a while as the next ruck I will be back in 3/4 tons. :(
