I have a December'06 build, 5.9. I want to clean any sensors that are on the intake manifold. I pulled one that was to the back of the grid heater at about cyl #4. It looked like a temp sensor thermistor. Is there any other sensor on the intake? I looked with a light and a mirror. Reason for this is I have an exhaust brake and use it often (6spd stick) and heard they can get dirty from using the exhaust brake.

That is the MAP sensor which gives the ECM the manifold temperature and absolute pressure.

You won't find too much soot buildup from the exhaust brake with the stock cam, but a little is possible.

I looked in the parts pdf I have and it shows the sensor that I cleaned as the "one and only". It does both tasks. It was dirty as I have never cleaned it since new. Truck has 77,000mi.
Thanks!

I would think there would be more grime on it from the air intake than the exhaust brake.

When I had my stock cam I never saw an IAT rise with the exhaust brake on, which means no "reverse flow". With the colt stage 1 there was a 10-20° IAT rise which means more overlap and exhaust reverse flow. I did confirm that overlap with Colt Cams. Now with my Hamilton Cam I am back to a 2-3° IAT rise with the EB on.

Even with the bigger rise on the Stage 1 the couple times I checked my MAP sensor over 40K miles there wasn't anything on it.

Most of the problems with a dirty MAP are from running oiled filters instead of dry filters. Should be little if any soot backed into the intake.
