Low mileage 2007, 5. 9 Laramie with ELECTRIC 4wd selector. A friend of mine has his truck on his ranch and used 4 low. Now he can't get it out of 4 low. Lights on dash flash. NO water crossings. Any ideas? (I sure love my MANUAL linkage) Truck has under 40,000 miles.

Unload the drivetrain. Forward to reverse, wheels straight , then forwarder 5 mph, no brakes, slip it into neutral and while still rolling shift the case. May take several attempts to get everything free enough to shift.

Thanks. I'll call him! I'll post back and let you know if it worked. Darn electronic crap! Murphy LOVES them!

Had the same problem once with my 07, did the same thing jhenderson suggested, worked haven't had the problem since, monte

My friend called back and the 4wd came out of 4 low by doing what jhenderson said. My friend, my old dentist now retired at 61, lives way out on his 1000 acre cattle ranch and I think he kinda panicked. THANKS jhenderson!!

I had a discussion with a Land Rover specialist. He mentioned that Land Rovers coming off of Lease spent most/all of their life in 2wd. When sold to the next owner they would have problems with the 4wd. Because the first driver left it in 2wd the solenoids would freeze in the engaged position for the next owner.

I think that it was more of being in a bind. He had told me that when he had tried to get it out of 4wd that the light flashed. I believe the light flashes until it is all the way engaged to what range you have selected.
