My diesel mechanic told me to buy a 2007 fan and clutch to replace my bad 1994 fan and clutch. He said it should all fit any year from 1994 up. Hope he was right because Dodge sure charged a lot for these parts and said they're non-returnable. Engine overheats to 250 degrees when off road. Will build a custom shroud in a few days and install the new fan and clutch then.

There are several wires coming out of the electric clutch and since my engine has no computer whatsoever, so i need to know how to wire this clutch. I'll use a switch in the cab, possibly a thermostat and or a/c to engage it as well. Do i need a relay, resistors, diodes, or any other gizmos to ensure safe operation of the clutch? I've read forums about failures and adding a switch, but nothing about hot wiring it without the ECU.

Thanks,

Matt

Guess what. I just noticed that the fan blades point in opposite directions. Did Cummins change the rotation of the drive belt system between 1994 and 2007? I'll bet the clutch nut is threaded in the wrong direction as well. Getting a sinking feeling that i just blew $450 in non-returnable parts. Can annyone verify this?

Dodge wants a 20% restocking fee which is almost $100. If anyone needs a new fan and clutch, PM me. I'll list them on eBay.
