2007 model 5.9's

Does anyone know if the 5. 9's in the first '07 's will have all of the emissions "equipment" on them that the 6. 7 will? I'm thinking of swapping trucks & this would be a deal breaker for me if they do. I don't want to be a guinea pig.

I'm sure you'll be able to get an '07 model that is built in 2006, thus it wouldn't have the extra emission requirements. I did the same thing... my pickup is a model year '04 but was built in '03 so it didn't have to comply with the Teir II emissions requirement that went into effect Jan 2004.

I would be a little careful with the 2007 5. 9's. My fleet manager (a pretty credible source) said that Dodge very likely will start sending out 2007's with the new motor prior to December. If you get in early enough though you may get some good deals as the dealer will be clearing the 5. 9l in favor of the untested, emission-garbled 6. 6's.

I just put in an order for a new 2007 Mega cab yesterday and the order build sheet was for the 5. 9. I hope that is what I will get ! They did not have the new 22 gallon mid-tank or new auto listed as available yet. Now I wonder if I will really get the 5. 9

Mid tank

The mid tank is an option with the new frame style chassis/cab model. I would not think the new Megamonster would have the new frame. Just my thoughts.

The 5. 9's will not have all of the new emission equiptment. Only the 6. 7's.

Now what do I do with my EDM 1. 5 injectors from my 2001 and Edge Box Comp DodgeZilla, AFE? Do any of these parts work on the 2006-2007 5. 9 engine? Is the new Bombing going to have to start all over again? I plan on putting the truck back to stock form before the trade in and they are not even very old !

At the least neither your injectors nor your comp box will not work on an 03+ 5. 9 - completely different injection system. I don't think your turbo will work either as the 03+ turbo's rotate the opposite of the 89-02 5. 9's (may be wrong on this and you may be able to make it work).

all the turbos (1st gen 2nd gen, and 3rd gen) run the same direction, clockwise, the compressor outlet is just in a different positon on the 3rd gens , then the 2nd gens. i have seen a 3rd gen with a 2nd gen setup, ( 2nd gen exhaust manifold, outlet, and a very large shiney turbo... . take a guess) and it was alot of custom work to make it happen, but it works just fine. imo, the dodgezilla you have will be hard to get to work on the 3rd gen setup, unless you like to fab parts and stuff, i would sell it and buy a turbo that will fit a 3rd gen. setup.

How far out is your truck? I need a new truck since mine was totalled last week. It looks like I will need to order one since I can not find what I want.

The 5. 9 will not be available for another year, it will be available for another 2 1/2 months and then it's no more at least in the Dodge platform - it will be the 6. 7l starting January 1. I talked to a dealer this week and he said that the 5. 9 will be available for another year. I want to buy one of the last ones.

I was told as long as your build date is before Jan. 1, 2007 you will get a 5. 9 after that it will be a 6. 7. I am looking to order one next week my concern is the build time. The dealer said 6-7 weeks but another source said more like 8-12 weeks. I am down one vehicle 12 weeks would suck big time.

Some don't like the tail lights but honestly, the teil lightsare the lest of my worries. The truck is, to my knowledge, identical to the 06'. There are however, small differences and of course, when you want to get aftermarket parts for it, the 07' parts are not out there yet. For example, I wanted to get a set of those In-Channel vent visors but the 07's are not even made yet. Anywhereyou look for parts or whatever, the reply is not available for your year yet. If anybody know of any place that has 07' stuff out there, I would appreciate it. Thanks to all in advance and hope to be a contribiting member of TDR.

I wouldn't think the windows would be different, so why wouldn't the 06' vent visors work?
