2008 deleted with no programmer issue

Hello all, I purchased a 2008 that was deleted in 2008 with a smarty. He put in the economy tune as it was a grocery getter. Then before I bought it the hand held was lost. He tried to get a new one but smarty won’t sell one for a deleted truck anymore. I use a truck like a truck and need to get a new program. Research is leaving me confused.
I talked to a place yesterday and was told I can buy the edge with attitude and it will set me up. But they seemed a little slow in confirming it will work with a prior deleted truck. Still said yes it will but we’re not 100% convincing.
So what do I do ? I remember years ago there was a really sharp guy on here ( Todd ) that knew all the ins and outs. Maybe he is here or one of you other guys that knows these trucks can steer me in the RIGHT direction. thank you in advance.

Difficult as there is now Vendor left to sell delete tunes/tuners in the US.
EPA shut them down all together.

You can still get the Smarty with delete in Europe though.

You might look into EFI LIVE they are still on the internet. An have Cummins tunes available for the 6.7L engine

Return it for a full refund, force the seller to return it to stock at their expense, return it to stock on your own dime… Consider this can be done to you by the next buyer with the help of Government along with a fine.

Is it clear why you are having a hard time finding a replacement delete tuner? No kidding about the EPA crackdowns.

Being the truck is a 2008, I do not think there are many parts available to rebuild the truck to a stock configuration. Most users who have deleted their truck probably had a shop do the work for them. Most shops scrap the parts when removed, turning in the DPF for cash.
