Hello, my friend's work truck, a 430,000 km 2009 Dually wih g56 has started putting engine oil into the coolant. He took the truck to one shop already and they installed a new engine oil cooler. Didn't fix the problem. What other areas can oil get into coolant unless the new cooler is defective?

I know the pressure of the oil has to be higher than coolant pressure to enter the cooling system.

He got the truck sitting at a different shop now. Waiting on what they say is the problem.

Is he sure they cleaned all the oil out? Use dish soap and flush many times with the soap then clean water.

I forgot to also mention that the truck shuts off when hot.

Sag2: That's possible, will have to see

It is difficult to clean all the gasket material when replacing the cooler. That could be the problem. Another possibility is the head gasket.
