This thread reminds me of a set of galvanized pads I came across a year or so ago and forgot all about. Been wanting to give them a try on one of the vehicles but haven't had the need yet. I can't tell you the last set of pads I actually wore out. The backing plates end up corroding to the point of early signs of separation long before the linings wear out.

I wonder how your rotors will last with those.

Hey all. If I'm going from semi metallic pads to semi metallic. Do i need to turn the rotors if there not warped and have allot of life in them?

Reading says that I only need to turn off bad rotors or different pad material

I wonder how your rotors will last with those.

From their description they are made to OE spec with the exception of the galvanized steel. I don't know anyone who has run them so I have no idea.
I'd be more inclined to try them out on one of the other vehicles before my truck as it sees the least amount of winter driving. Plus if they don't work out they will be cheaper on say the wife's car compared to my truck.

Decided to replace rear rotors and pads. Also ended up replacing the caliper pins on both sides as well.

Front rotors and pads were practically new still so I think truck is more rear biased towards braking but I did bust out the micrometer and measure everything and the front are golden.

Rear pads were shot but the rotors were still good with life so I gave them to a buddy who needed rear rotors but couldn't afford to get new ones right now. Truck stops great now so thanks all for the information and help.
