Got to see an almost loaded DRW at NFR.

Loved it.

The new larger quad cab with the availible long bed is long over do.

Some of you may hate the new exterior/interior but I think it's great and will purchase one, eventually.

The Dodge rep at NFR claims that Urea will positively be added in 2013 for the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks do to emissions. He said that Cummins has no other choice but to add Urea if they intend to adhere to the up-coming emission regulations.

He also mentioned that Dodge will offer a V8 Cummins motor in the 1/2 ton class.

Take it for what it's worth girls... ... .

As far as I know, there are no further emission reductions for diesel engines in the pipeline. They are at zero emissions now. Urea injection, despite the negative press it receives, will enable EGR to be reduced and timing to be advanced, resulting in improved MPG and less soot production, resulting in fewer DPF regenerations.

This fella said that Dodge is trying to eliminate the EGR all together.....

You sure he was an actual Dodge rep, and not just a marketing company rep. I used to do that kind of work back when the 2 nd gens came out. Kinda falls under the " if you don't know what you are talking about, dazzle them with BS " type of thing ! :-laf Where were you at , the T&M, or the cowboy XMas show ?

Saw the truck at Cowboy X-mas. I've talked with this guy at other events, New Mexico, Texas etc.

He's been with Dodge for some time.

I not planning on buying a 1st production truck. I made that mistake in 03. I'll wait a few years untill the newest emissions regs roll out.

I've gotta start to smog next year here in N. Cal so I'd like to wait and see what new BS that EPA can come up with before I invest.

Absolutely, we seem to forget about the mileage gain to be had with Urea, I think Cummins did the right thing by trying to rely only on regeneration, because the Infrastructure for Urea was not in place, now as it becomes more readily available it makes nothing but sense to go to an Urea based emission system with the better MPG.
