:mad:I went on a 10 day trip and when I returned both batteries on my 3500 were completely dead. I did a search on this forum for this issue, I found 4 0r 5 posts addressing this issue but no one seemed to find the reason for this. I have been charging the batteries for about 10 hrs now with 10 amp charger and they are only about 50% charged. I have checked for anything left on but cannot find any reason for the batteries to go dead. I did not leave the keyfob in the ignition, no lights of any kind on and nothing plugged into a 12 non switched outlet. I had a 95 2500 Laramie 4x4 for 18 years and left it longer without use many times with no issues. Has anyone ever determined why the 2010 seems to have this issue? I know this truck has much more electronics than the 95, but these are not wimpy batteries. My dealer says this is just normal when not used for a few days. I cannot believe on a truck that cost what these trucks do, that we should expect them not to be functionable after a week of non use:--).

Thanks for your input,

Bob

My 97 went through batteries every 3 years on the dot from the original ones to the Deka batteries I used later. I even had to use sealed ones or they would spit battery acid. Never seemed to have any issues with any electrical systems on the truck. I did live in a hot climate environment though. That might have had something to do with it who knows. Batteries are funny.

My 2010 had to have new batteries around the 2 year old mark. Had one bad. Same thing when I had the 08 as well.

If you plan on downtime for the truck remove the IOD fuse. It should make a difference for you. IOD= ignition off draw

This happened twice to my 2010, about two days apart. It was several years ago and I have not had that problem since. Dealer swore I left something on. Sadly, this is no help to you. I guess the good news is, the batteries did not seem to suffer any damage.

Had both batteries tested at Tire & Batteries store today. Both passed with flying colors. Had charger on driver side battery for 20hrs, and passenger side for 3 hrs, finally started about 0900 today.
