Drove from Va to Sc yesterday, no issues. Went to start truck this morning and it won't crank. Battery is charged, key turns but nothing happens. Tried starting in park and neutral. "Service trailer break system" message has come up. Towed last weekend without issue, have not seen this message before. Stuck at family function now, will check fuses and hook up scanner when I can in a few. any suggestions or starting points are greatly appreciated. Trying to find a dealer near where I am, but anything local is most likely closed until Monday morning.

Check for tight battery cable to post connections. Remove the battery cables (both + or both-) for a few minutes then reconnect them tightly.

Other than those two wild axx guesses I have no clue. You might get lucky and find a loose connection or removing the battery leads might reset one of the numerous computers that really own your truck, you just get to pay for it.

Just got back to the truck to check it out and it started right up on the first try. Message center is clear and there are no warnings about the trailer brake system. The truck is now giving a PO381 code: Glow Plug/ Heater Indicator Circuit. I am going to clear the code, leave it running for a few minutes, make sure all connections are tight and then take it for a test drive. I will post back if anything else comes up in case it can help anyone in the future.

Thank you for your help, maybe the gremlins have moved on to another vehicle.

-Mike

Drove about 50 miles and turned the truck on and off 5 or 6 times without issue. Hopefully the return trip to Va will be uneventful, will update upon returning home.
