From all indications... Ford isn't playing games with the 6. 7L Powerstroke they are building in house. No longer are they taking chances on Internationals design. Thus... even when the 6. 0L and 6. 4L IH engines were troublesome... they still outsold ALL in the 450 and 550 class. And with the recent problems of the IH engines... I'm afraid all Navistar has done is awaken a sleeping giant. Ford takes this class SERIOUSLY. Thats all you ever see on the road in this range of vehicle. And the new engine only has to be fairly decent and it'll sell. We'll see, and right soon as they should be hitting the lots next month. I had long hoped Dodge would muster up a 4500 and 5500 and they finally did. But rare are they on the road. Only certain dealers can get them, whereas any Ford dealer can order me a F550.
I don't think it matters what dealer I call. Indy's big commercial dealer can't even begin to build one on a computer. So nobody has the ability to tell me what or when or how about the 2011 design HD trucks... that are supposed to begin delivery in March. I need the full CrewCab so 2010 left overs are out of the question. And as luck would have it... the commercial 4500 and 5500's WILL have urea injection. Only the pickups won't I've found.
