I'm looking/thinking about buying a new 2010 2500 SLT Laramie 4x4 diesel (of course). It's loaded... Nav/tow/sunroof/camera/kenwood w/DVD/leather/heat-cool seats... there doesn't seem to be much it doesn't have.

MSRP is $54800 and they have a sale price of $48995. I hate buying vehicles so I"m trying to do some research. It's late in the model year and 2011's are out. Should I make some low ball offer and see where it goes? Or is that price about what a new '10 should go for?

Any thoughts anyone?

Thanks

Mike

All I know is that when I was looking for a new truck in '08, a $52,000 truck could be had for $37,000!! $10-$15,000 off sticker was the norm. Of course, that was when the 6. 7s were new and going through their teething pains.

Call Dave Smith Motors in Idaho and see what they can do for you. I suspect the discount will be well under that dealer's price. They have a huge inventory and will supply all paperwork for you to register the truck here. My '07 listed for $39600 and my price was $30,671 that year.

I figured that Nov '09 was the time to pull the trgger. I got mine for just over $12,000 off MSRP. That was the bighorn - not as loaded as what you are looking at. Listed at $50,000 got it for $38,000. I got dealer costs from Consumer Reports + that was pretty much their cost. I thought that was fair. Drove about 200mi to get it but that was definitely worth a no haggle transaction!

I checked internet prices all over to see what I could expect. Good Luck + have fun!

last month I got a great deal (so I thought) at Steve white motors in Hickory NC. I preferred an st and added goodies a lot cheaper than getting them in a Laramie but I have weird taste... . still prefer manual, hate carpet, hate cloth, hate two tone paint. Anyway Got it for $35,900 think MSRP was $42,900 which translated to about the same discount. They also payed half the airline ticket, installed a brake control and picked me up at the airport for no charge. Originally saw it on E-bay of all places. Tried to offer less no dice, hope this helps. Also heard a lot of good about Dave Smith but the price was not much different and it was cross country for me. All my local dealers stunk, pushy buggers

thanks Inferno... that link gives me some ideas on where to start... some pretty healthy discounts there.

That's about the price I got my ordered 11 3500 for (all options). May be a little high to consider a good price for a 10

call ed west @ dave smith ext.1488

run your details past him - i. e. what you want. he will work up a bottom line price that will likely be lower than anyone you find. i went to idaho to pickup vehicle based on the deal. spent the shipping money on a cross country adventure with the kids! tell him manny sent you.

There's still some 2010s left. I picked up the truck in my sig for $41,780 at the local dealer. Sticker was $50,280. Its equipment is somewhere between SLT and Laramie--has lots of goodies including Sirrus, electric sliding rear window, chrome step bars, Laramie front grill, premium alloy wheels, 10 way power seat, auto dimming tow mirrors, etc. There might be better deals out there but I got the truck I wanted for the same price as a 2011 ST CC 4 X 4 with 6. 7/auto.

I wouldn't look at it for less than 15% , Aharris got 17% . a good salesman can sense your anxiety and will make you pay for it.

Ask the dealer with that offer to show you the invoice price on that specific truck. Then, ask for what the incentives are from Chrysler. I got mine for $500 under invoice, and then deducted the incentives. Without doing the research, my gut says that the price you're getting could be better.

If your dealer hesitates on the invoice price, get all the info off the sticker, like model, every option, etc. You can then calculate invoice price from there, with numbers researched on the web.

My dealer, Woodhouse in Blair, NE , didn't hesitate for a moment to get me the numbers I requested. Normally, I walk in with those numbers in hand, but as my new one a short notice wreck replacement, I didn't have time for that.
