will 2010 3/4T alum wheels fit on '96 3/4T? No lift kit, tires are 265/70R17. any mods or spacers needed?

any other options for my era truck? I thinking of 17" wheels with 265/70R17 tires.

searched threads but its a shotgun of info.....

'96 2500 stock until recent TST#4 plate w/boost elbow, gauges, KDP. Need front end work and general re-do and clean up on a few things. Not going to spend 50K on new......

Thanks guys

Wheels should fit fine, they are wider than the steel 2nd gen wheels.Iirc the back spacing is a bit different. The 3rd gen wheels I have installed on 2nd gens work great

These are 4th gen wheels on my 98 (came off a 12). The first pic is with the OEM 265/70/17 BFG which I didn't care for at all. Very poor traction even in grass and light mud. 2Nd pic is with 285/75/17 Terra Grapplers. You will have to re use your old lug nuts.

How do you like your fender flares? I wasn't too jazzed about mine at first but they're growing on me. They look great from the side but from front or back they really stick out there and look a little goofy with no tire underneath them. I bought some of the good Mopar mud flaps and I'm hoping they'll work with the flares. Whoever put mine on did a really crappy job and used some little plastic spacers for washers and all kinds of madness. I pulled all the screws out and put 3/4" OD fender washers on them. They're not black so they don't look as "stealthy" but they sure as hell hold the flares a lot better. They didn't use the larger factory screws on the back edge of the rear fenders and they feel like they may be stripped. I need to get those out anyway because they go through the mud flaps. I'm hoping that since the flares are already held out there anyway that the mudflaps will fill that gap perfectly. I like the look of my truck with nothing but we've got all gravel county roads out here so that's just not going to happen. I'll probably end up putting on good running boards too. REAL running boards instead of nerf bars.

Well, they were given to me as payment for doing a timing belt job on a car so the only thing I was out was some labor.
If I had to buy a set knowing what I know now I would probably buy a narrower set of flares. These are thebushwhacker 3", and they almost stick out a little too far. I put them on for the same reason you mentioned, run lots of gravel roads and running a wider tire like a 285 just beats the tar out of the lip of the fenders and quarters. This helps that aspect but I still need a good set of mud flaps to protect the rockers. I have made it a habit of removing them twice a year (spring and fall) and wash and wax the paint to keep things from rusting. They fit the body nice and tight and really don't collect a bunch of crap like a lot of people think but they do get dirty and I could see where corrosion could be a problem if you werent proactive.

I removed a nice set of aluminum running boards from this truck when I bought it, I just didn't like the looks. They are in great shape, run wheel to wheel (quad cab long bed). They are just sitting in the rafters in the garage, I could make someone a sweet deal on them but shipping may not make it such a good deal.
