2012 mercedes EClass

Well finally got around to taking the new toy on a small road trip to Palm Springs Ca.

28. 67 MPG (hand calc). ;)

It has the Hemi with the deal where it shuts down 4 cyl's (Obama Motor). I have to admit, I was somewhat apprehensive about buying this kind of technology. But the only time you ever notice it's in Obama mode is a small "eco" symbol in the digital display.

If you guys remember I ran this bad dog up to 146 Mph awhile back. She loves cruising anywhere between 80 and 100:D

Holy cow!!! What were the conditions? What speed, etc. . Our 2011 Honda Odyssey Touring with 6 speed and Obama mode goes from 6 cylinder to 4, then 3 and we have gotten 29 hand calculated at 65. We only have a few thousand miles on it so far, but it sure is nice!

Derrrr, I just realized it's a Charger, not a truck... so it's not too hard to believe. My wife's '06 Mustang GT convertible with automatic gets 27 going 65 mph. Also gets 17-19 bopping around town.

Calling the computer controlled cylinder cut out mode of operation of perfectly honorable and excellent performing automobiles "obama" is highly insulting to the automobiles. That feature precedes nobama by many years and will still be in use long after he has been discarded as an abject failure.

Some GM Cadillacs had the 8-6-4 feature back in the '80s although it didn't work on junk automobiles made by GM in that era.

Oh hey Harv:eek:

You right the term "Obama" these days I usually join with any thing negative in america#@$%!.

A lot of things of that era made by GM didn't work too well. Add the LF9 diesel, the HT4100, and the early eighties 305-350 Chevy engines with their soft camshafts to that V 8-6-4 disaster. The previous decade's Chevy Vega with its aluminum bore engine didn't work out too well either.
