My friend bought his second Dodge Cummins. It is a 2011 3/4 6 speed and it had about 5,000 miles when he bought it. The problem he's having is the truck is dieing like it has no fuel and can't restart it.
The first time his happened it was while he was backing his 5th wheel up and it died. He had it towed to the nearest dealer for warranty and they took it to Barstow, Ca. They first said it was a dirty fuel filter until he told the the dealer was the last person to change it and it was less than 3,000 miles. Then they said it was the fuel pump and so they changed it.
The second time it happened it died near Norco, Ca and the dealer there said the couldn't get truck to do it once and not again so he picked it up.
This time he was coming home and it died going through Virgin River Gorge near Utah. They towed it to St. George, Utah. He was able to get a rental car and make it home. The dealer told him today that the fuel filter was bad and the fuel was no good. This was done with there eyes. They said he has to pay for the repairs and return the rental car in 24 hours. The truck now has 17,000 miles.
Has anyone had a problem like this or know of a TSB? Thanks
