Higher EGT'S equal more boost?

Cummins stock price and Fleetguard fuel filter availability

Well, truck got a turbo, driver picked it up... made it ALMOST 100 miles and back in the shop. This time, we are cutting our losses and have sent the truck to a different dealer. I'm sure that we will get put to the back of the line due to it being a warranty claim nightmare. But, at some point, you have to throw in the towel and make a big change.

What is the issue/failure, now? That is pretty hard to take with a new piece of equipment, regardless of whose name is on the hood.

Not sure. . haven't got to talk to him directly this time. . I heard it made it into the shop this time under its own power, but severely derated and the CEL on. .

I am wondering about the condition of the exhaust system after the original engine failure. Typically, when you have a catostrophic failure, all kinds of debris and fluids get dumped into the exhaust system... On most diesels, its not an issue, but I wonder what it does to the catalyst. Also wonder what the long term effects will be????

Wingate,

This story is beginning to get good. If you could sell hot bags of popcorn with each new post you could make some good money.

I'm enjoying it.

Like a vulture circling on something tasty to eat... Getting excited now!! :-laf

JK... Hope for a fellow member that this thing gets resolved soon because time=brain or is it muscle?... Maybe cash... IDK :-laf I forget sometimes...

hahaha... only problem with selling tickets is it will probably have a very anti-climatic ending to it. . Eventually it will get fixed enough that the driver can use it for awhile and this will all become a faint memory. I know he's looking forward to THAT day...

Knock on wood, my 550 has been doing flawless since the transmission repair. Apparently better fuel mileage is a distant dream... . will have to wait and see what ever becomes of that. .

My son-in -law works for a large construction company. Some one talked them into getting Super Dutys for the fleet this year. All gas engines. They've reported trans. trouble as well.

Several of our customers have purchased F450 and F550's for their technicians as well... Several have called me wanting to know who/what fixed the transmission issue as they are having the same problems...

I feel like I should be getting a commission check for all the referrals!!. .

Hey, you may be testifying before congress regarding a national recall!!

hahaha... I would get kicked out of there pretty quick..... They would NOT like what I have to say... and I'm not talking about Ford or pickups!!!!. .
