I got my first P2000 code around 97,000 miles and my second around 102,000 miles. I cleared the code both times myself. I have not talked to the dealer about this issue. From prior posts it looks like there are various fixes, depending on the dealer you go to. But all being upwards to a grand.

Do I even need to get it fixed? If I don't what goes wrong?

Thanks!

Bob

I've had O2 sensors go bad at 60,000 miles on gassers. Might be with the soot produced by a diesel, they just need cleaned like bob4x4 said.

But then you have the challenge of resetting the ECM so it doesn't remember it had bad O2 readings. Those are difficult to get out without destroying them sometimes. ?......in my experience.

I just had this done yesterday. I have the truck in my signature with 62,000 miles on the clock. Everything was covered under warranty. I believe it was under the power train warranty. TSB #25-004-13 is the service bulletin you are looking for.

I updated my thread from the beginning of this year about a very similar situation.
Bob4x4 checked for me and I was over the 5/50k warrenty by 6,000 miles.

I've done the overlay harness repair and haven't seen any change.
