Hey RamDuk,
Sorry I misinterpreted your question... thought you were asking ALL the maintenance that needs to be done when approaching CCV filter maintenance (60K miles), not just what's entailed in doing the CCV filter and EGR cleaning. The reason I thought you were asking 60K miles maintenance is a biggie when the Aisin and maybe 68RFE need fluid and filter changes. I don't do auto transmission fluid filter changes anymore and the only reason I still do oil and coolant changes myself is my BIL is a master diesel mechanic and generator electrician on commercial generators and I can recycle through him.
My Ram dealer is really good with reasonable pricing on fluid filter changes. I really was amazed when they preformed full service on the Aisin on my former Ram 4500 for $328 which included flushing, changing fluid and filter, inspecting it and adjusting, if needed. I was actually challenged on that price and what was done in another thread on the TDR, but I had the receipt from when it was done. Dealers have coupons, specials, and overhead is lower when the have ATF4 and engine oil in 55 gallon barrels. In fact in the day when I owned three Ram Cummins trucks at the same time, I purchased a 33 gallon barrel of Amsoil 15W-40 synthetic. Now, I can get an oil/filter change on my 5500 for $140 with factory fill, so I may start having them do that for me in the future too. I get coupons emailed to me all the time.
Finally, if you have a good dealer, see if there is deal to be had for packaging the 60K mile maintenance or if there are specials/coupons to take advantage of.
Please let us know what you end up doing. Nothing wrong with having dealer to perform recurring maintenance and fluid/filter changes.
Cheers,
Ron
