Looking at a Megacab dually loaded with all the discounts down to $51,657

They offered $19K for my 2005 3500 SRW Quad 4wd with 103K.

The $4K rebate expires today, so who knows what the rebates will be next month.

What do you guys think?

D.

If that isn't at least 10k off MSRP you can do better. Also, used 3rd gen 5. 9s are going for $25k+ so you might get some more on the trade or sell your truck first on the open market!

Sticker is $61K

So with rebates it is right at $10K off.

Both trucks are 4wd.

I am in the Dallas Texas area.

I am not seeing 3rd 5. 9s bring $25K+ unless they are megacabs and low miles.

MSRP sticket -> $61,135

Supplier Pricing -> $55,657

Rebates -. $4K

---

$51,657

Last day of the month I say that they should be able to do this... .

$61,135

Less $10,000

$51,135

Less $4,000 Rebate

$47,135.

Push 'em a little, there is room. See if they want to pay floor plan for another month or would they like to see it gone... ... today. .

Mike. :)

Is that price for a Laramie Longhorn? Does it include additional authorized dealer markup? That was the sticker price for mine with all options and Longhorn package. If yours is not a Longhorn then it seems high.

I'd second what was stated about, push the purchase price down another $4-5K and the trade in value up another 2 or 3K.

What is KBB, Trade in and Retail on your truck?

Looks to be about the same deal I got. They did include tinting the front side windows and a "SPECIAL" paint treatment and a full tank of fuel. I agree, push them some more. Ask for dealer pricing on all parts in the future and free oil changes wile under warranty.

$61,xxx for a Dodge pickup? I'm amazed!

I have carefully avoided even walking near new trucks on dealer lots for several years now. I thought they were outrageously priced at "$50 - $55k". I guess I was several thousand dollars and several years of price increases short.

I have been saying for several years that I probably won't ever buy another one. This thread has just set my thinking in concrete.

Tomball (TX) Dodge, where I bought my truck, is advertising $14K off MSRP of ANY 4-door Ram truck right now.

Yes, a paid for truck that has been maintained looks very good to me. All of us know that with reasonable service our Dodge-Cummins trucks will last for hundreds of thousands of miles and many years of reliable service.

I am a loyal, perhaps even fanatical supporter of the Dodge Ram platform and the Cummins ISB engines and certainly don't wish to harm their sales but the prices seem completely beyond reason to me.

Websites like NADA offer MSRP and Invoice pricing on most models last time I looked. "Invoice" price is what the dealer pays for the vehicle but invoice is never the dealer's actual cost. Dealers typically get about a 3% holdback refund when the vehicle is sold and depending on sales volume, special programs, and other hidden dealer incentives the dealer may receive they actually pay considerably less than invoice.
