2012 front axle, no disconnect?

I was just under my new 2012 1 ton DRW looking around and didn't see the normal axle disconnect. Did they do away with it, no more vacuum problems with the frount axle? Also are the axle shafts 1. 5" & 35 spline?

The disconnect disappeared in 2003 when AAM Axles went into the Truck.
Did they comeback since then?

Actually the disconnect dissapeared with the late 2nd gen's.

There is talk of them coming back in 2013 but I would be electric not vacuume operated

It will be limited to the 3500, the 2500 continues as is.

Mid year 2001 is when they went away, about January 2001 build date was the change over to NON CAD

While I like the solid setup better than a CAD, I don't like the lack of hub lockouts.

There are companies that makes hubs for the AAM, and IMHO it's a great upgrade. It allows for better slow speed steering, 2WD Low Range, less wear and tear, improved fuel economy, and all but removes the need to grease that PITA fitting on the front driveshaft.

Both Spyntec and Dynatraxx make awesome free wheeling hub kits for our trucks.

It's too bad Yukon doesn't have a kit out for the 09+ trucks yet, it's a great kit too.

Actually this disconnect disappeared in late 2nd generation then they upgraded and that not came back in 2013.
