I purchased my 2012 used with 80,000 miles, I've owned it 5 months and put 5000 miles on it. No regeneration that I know of. I don't use it for short trips. Should I be concerned? Will there be a message if it does it ,correct?
thanks in advance

I may be wrong, but I don't believe there is any indicator telling you that you are in regen. In my 2015 the only way I know is that a light comes on my Edge CTS monitor telling me about the regen... nothing stock from Ram.

You will never know when it goes into regen with out a reader or egt gauge. The only time it showes on the evic, is when it needs to regen and the filter is getting close to full or full.

I used to get a message when my truck was new when it went into re-gen mode, but since a factory flash, the message has not come on in the past year or so. The owners manual states that when the re-gen mode comes on you are supposed to drive it until it completes the cycle to allow it to complete. Mine may have come on however and I just have failed to notice, but I really do not think so as I like to constantly monitor the gauges.

If it comes on, you have not driven it in a manner that does not get it in a situation for it to complete a regen. I all 3 of my 6.7 trucks, I have only seen the message one, that was in my 2010. I had let the truck idle, Iit was idled up to 1100 rpm, while I was chaining up 11 of our firetrucks during a snow storm. Truck idled most of the day and never went ove 25-30 mph. The next day I had the filter full warning, I managed to maintain 35-45 mph long enough, approx. 30 mintes, for it to complete the regen process. I tow 95% of the time, and heavy 20% of that. With my 2014, I have never seen nor do expect to see any regen notification. The thing is, you have to get it hot and keep it there, short trips and idling will kill these mosters, they like to work and tha harder you work them, the happier they will be.
