Just for info I had a RAM dealer install the wrong fuel filter on my truck. Fortunately I caught it the next day as I was going over the invoice. Not knowing how commonly this is done, I thought I would warn everyone to double check your dealer or tech and make sure they are not being stupid.
For 2010 to 2012 Cummins 6.7 the filter and part numbers are as follows:
Mopar 68065608AA (Fleetguard FS43255)
For 2013 Cummins 6.7 the new filter part numbers are:
Mopar 68157291AA (Fleetguard FS53000)
Both are two stage filters. The difference is the 2013 new filters will filter down to 3 microns, whereas the older ones will only filter down to 5 microns.
HOWEVER the housing design is basically the same. Thus the older filters will install in new 2013 trucks. So be careful to install the proper filter and don't just assume small town RAM dealer tech will do the right thing. Since they don't need to be replaced till about 15,000 miles some techs may not have done that many on the new 2013 RAMs. In my case I am not sure if the tech was just being lazy, or what, but they didn't check and I had the wrong filter on my truck. Had I not closely inspected the invoice, I may have missed it.
