Yea who knows what's really going on. Maybe they just want to deplete stock. I did read that it would not be available till fall of 2013 early on so I'm not surprised. They do this to get folks on a waiting list, if only in their minds.

... . Diaz Has been claiming since Sept 2012 the NEW 3500 would here Spring 2013... ... BS I went to the Mpls Auto show and the Truck was ******** and NO reason other ******, No qualifying or Proto Truck, My guess this NEW truck will NOT be available for Orders Until Late 2013

Well, Spring starts in a few days, March 20, and ends June 20 or so. Wanna bet that 2013 3500's will be available in that time frame, which is exactly what Diaz said?

They have been taking orders for months already, so why would you say they will not even be taking orders until late this year? Owners have been notified that the trucks are built and in the storage lot in Mexico, awaiting shipment.

We"ll There taking orders With NO ship Date , I ordered In Jan 13 and still NO ship Date, Why Would Ram NOT bring their Best game to the Auto Show? We were invited to the event, if I would have paid $12. 00 I would be ******, Heck the 2013 Charger I have in my garage is more of a show piece then the chargers they had at the event, I would have loan it if Chrysler would have asked Heeeee C'mon I away thought the auto show was equal to the Super Bowl in the Auto world Marketing, Hmmm Why would Ram leave their Best player at Home ?. ugh

The wait will be worth it ,I don't like the market tactics Used, It works if you like your ears tickle or smoke up the rear, I don't care for Both.

On My order I think the real hold up is the 4:10 SRW.

On Edit Jan 13

It's all got to do with production scheduling. Usually they first build out commercial "white" trucks and get them out to commercial users early.

On My order I think the real hold up is the 4:10 SRW.

I had to drop the 4. 10s on my order for it to move out of BX status. . I made it to D1 Gateline scheduling, then my order started going backwards. . 1st to D then C status, where it's been for a few weeks not.

Good luck in getting 4. 10s on a SRW. Unless Ram changes their heart, you'll never get 4. 10s on a SRW Cummins for '13... .

crabjoe, I here Ya... I will stick with the Order, But if someone can convince Me the 3:42 with the New trans will Net close to the 4:10 and current gearing I will re-visit the Order. . It does seem odd that the 4:10 R/P is only available with DRW, Now I have look into the Law regarding SRW and Tire legality, Yes We have tires that can carry the NEW GVW with correct Trailer setup. Ram is making a BIG mistake NOT offering the 4:10 R/P,I know of 1 business owner that has 15 3500 SRW in his longing Business Not 1 is DRW, I won't own another DRW in My construction business, They are a PITA, Now for ALL you DRW lovers you can have them, If you like the look great , Buy one but if you think the DRW has any advantage over the SRW that's You opinion, My experience is: the SRW will Plow Better ,Drive Better in Wintry conditions, Back trailers into tight spots in alleys and Drive ways , 2 less tires for landfill and Transfer station dumps (Flats), DRW is a PITA at landfills or off-road, Parking, SRW Pull Better, Etc.

I don't think Ram is going to give in with allowing the 4. 10s on a SRW truck, and I don't think it's do to performance, as they have been saying. I think the only reason they are only offering the 3. 42s is because of CAFE. Even though HD trucks don't have MPG ratings on the window stickers, they still figure into their CAFE rating. And they know, just as we do, that most pickups are grocery getters, most of the time, and the majority of people won't care even know what those axle ratios numbers mean. Look at the 1/2 ton crowd. I've seen some of them put 37" tires with 3. 55s and a gas engine. Ford and GM also limit their axle ratio choice, on their SRW trucks. Still I feel Ram goofed by not allowing anything other than the 3. 42s, but I can't say it was the right thing for their pocket book... I have no idea what kind of penalties they pay, if they don't hit their CAFE numbers, but I'll bet it's a good chuck of change. .

Hello guys. . I really like this model of the 2013 HD because its time change of the oil is little bit greater then the others. How much time did you change the oil of the engine? How much distance is cover after you felt that change the oil of the engine?

Yo Hoot, Crabjoe,Both comments add some light to the why NOT,I see we agree that its a mistake NOT to offer the 4:10 R/P,I like always open to change, If Ram can provide Facts on the gearing I may change My Mind, I've had 4:10s in all My Gas/Diesel truck beginning in 1997.

Boy You two are Sooooo Right on the buyers comments, When I was at the Auto show I ask some visitors questions on What are you going to use it for, The 1 response I remember the most was, O I'm going to use it for more then that (2500 6. 7 ) Like what... ... ... ... ... ... . OK... ..... How many miles for your work commute Hmmmmmm 12,OK So your going to spend $$$$$ to pull your little camper Maybe 10 times seasonal to Milacs (220 miles Round Trip) Speed Limit 55/65, and 24 miles work commute city, BUY GAS. Now if someone would have said for Pulling My Camper/Toy hauler to FL/AZ /TX Buy as much truck as you can afford (3500,450 or bigger), if you can't afford it, drive and stay at time shares Heeeeeeeee. Now if your heart is set on the Cummins Buy it, Just be prepared for additional operating cost, I will glad to charge you for it, I here it all the time, I paid $$$$$ and Now ad 85K miles it needs BJ, & suspension work,Tires $$$$.

Just casually looked at a couple 2013's on the lot here over the weekend. Some autos and a few 6-speeds, but they all were 3:42's.

TC I had the gear ratio's for the trans the other day if my wife hasn't thrown them away I will post. The new aisan trans the ratios are almost identical to the exsisting aisan used in the CC trucks since 07. The 68rfe is the same as it always has been. I did drive a 13 2500 the other day with the 3:42 and it obviously had more get up and go but I figure that towing it will be a little on the weak side. I have run a couple of 12's on the highway with 18k living quarter horse trailers and they are geared wrong with 3:73's for crusing interstate at 70. They pull down and down shift on the hills at 70 but not 75.

Seen 2013 2500s on the local lot here a couple of weeks ago. Mostly STs... was not overly impressed considering the prices on the ST models. I did not look at the fuel cap / DEF cap set up, but from what I see here, that is no good. Dirt and water will go right in the fuel tank; just what I want in the fuel tank of my $60k truck!
