Oddly enough, they had the trans swapped out within two days of receipt (and earlier than I expected), replaced the complete driver's side mirror (glass jiggled to much going down the road), and fixed a map light that was self dimming, and had the oil changed w/filter (says so on the paperwork, awfully black still though). The bottom of the truck/trans/and frame were also cleaned pretty good.

What they didn't expect (speculation), was the owner to go home and totally inspect (like a post phase fod inspection) the underside of the truck (within an hour), and note the missing bolt in the transmission mount with what appeared to be damaged threads in the tail-shaft/housing (missing bolt). Next trip back they had to heli-coil it. I was told that they forgot to inform me that they had the missing bolt on order when I picked it up in the first place.

The new one "seems" to have a tighter feel to the shift points....... could be the newness, I haven't had a chance to work it yet.


So yes they replaced it due to the barfing of fluid out the vent and its all good for the moment.

I suspect so, TDR Editors/writers may be able to expound on the "drivetrain" component handling of warranty issues if they surf this particular thread........

This is the second one I have heard of. Let's hope they have corrected the issue. I will be bummed if I have any major problems with the new one I just ordered since my current 11 has been so trouble free!

Hey somebody has to help supply the in use engineering and failure data...... hopefully to end up with a better end product.... Glad I have more than one vehicle though, not everyone has that luxury.......

I can count the Aisin failures I know about on a couple of fingers, so I would not get too excited about one that failed.

Same here. Nice to hear they are quick to fix/replace the problem.

Just noticed the transmission filter for the newer Aisin is a lot less expensive on Genos.com
