A few days ago, my tree guy stopped by to look at a job and give me a bid. We always talk trucks. He has a whole host of heavy equipment and drove around a 1999 3500 dually. He told me his accountant told him he needed to buy something, and he had recently bought a 2014 Commercial 3500. He selected the 6spd manual, w/410 rear end, mainly because he always had manuals on everything he had. He said he was very happy with the truck, but when not hauling a load, the rpms really wind up when he wants to drive at a higher speed. I told him No Problem. I had the same problem with my 96 dually and had just installed a Gear Vendors O/D and the combination was great. I've had it now for at least 10 years. Last night, he called me saying he had talked to Gear Vendors, and they had said the 2012's were the last Dodge truck they could install a Gear Vendors on as Ram had made the transmission so there was nothing to bolt the Vendors too. I replied I had no idea, if it was EPA or what. I told him I would ask you guys. Any info, aalternatives or comments would be appreciated. Mike Nicholson, Sequim, WA. PS: I did give him my last TDR copy (telling him I wanted it back), and told him he needed to subscribe.

He could find a Brown-Lite or similar, that can be bolted in mid-ship and use two drive shafts instead of a direct bolt on.
