Gentlemen,

Finally got my new tire problem sorted out last night (had a tire with really high road force causing the vibration). Finally on smooth riding new Cooper AT3 tires.

However... Somewhere in the process the tire tech ended up getting one of my front TPMS sensors on the rear outer location.

Is there a way to reteach the sensors their locations?

As I understand, the fronts and rear outer tires sensors are the same, the rear inner sensors are unique and have to be in the rear inner location... Is that true?

My understanding of the system is that they learn the locations each time on start up due to signal strength at the sensors on the truck and which way they are turning. Are you sure the tire pressures are correct front to rear on each tire?

If they did not damage any sensors the location will be relearned after driving at freeway speeds for a bit

That is true.

Drive home from the tire shop was 20 miles or so... no luck.

I also pulled the 5er 2 hours each way to and from the campground... all sensors are giving me good pressures, but still showing in the wrong locations.

Dang Ryno.... I was hoping it would magically fix itself, but clearly it's other going to... guess I will have to just deal with it or have the tire store fix it.

FYI... Finally got the sensors to correct their locations. The issue was I had the spare tire on. With a missing sensor, it would not let the other sensors auto locate.

This might help.

Wow that dual wheel recommended rotation pattern wont do much for tire life. The rears will wear flat and the fronts will be rounded. The for/aft movement is where most of the benefit is. This rotation keeps them on the same axle forever.

Yeah... I intend to ignore the recommendation and swap the front and rear outer. Can't do anything really with the rear inner.

Technically---the fronts can still be rotated to the inner rears---one will then have a "jacked up" TPIS display though. :-laf

My '14 RAM 3500 Tradesman Crew Cab DRW was equipped with the outline white letter LT235/80R17 General Ameri*Trac TR's. The inner duals were mounted like fronts---white letter out---but I'd just have to make a mental note as to where the tires were located.

If one has blackwall tires----the fronts to rear outers will work just fine, as previously discussed.
